Product Description

Product Description

erythritol-3

Erythritol, a natural polyol from fruits and fermented foods, is produced by fermenting corn starch. As a mainstream zero-calorie bulk sweetener, it’s mainly manufactured and exported from China. Its tiny molecules barely generate calories in human bodies, causing much less stomach discomfort than xylitol and sorbitol.

Key Features

Mild on Digestion

High absorption rate prevents bloating and diarrhea.

Refreshing Cooling Taste

Delivers soft cool sensation without bitter or metallic aftertaste; it offsets the bitter finish of steviol glycosides and monk fruit extract.

Safe & Compliant

Stable under high temperature, acid and alkaline conditions. It meets GB, FDA and JECFA food standards, suitable for infants and pregnant women.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1 What particle size options do you offer, and how to select mesh grade for my formula?

We supply standard granular grade (20–60 mesh) and fine powder grade (100 mesh). Custom particle size is available.

- 20–60 mesh granule: Good flowability, low dust, ideal for bulk blending, tabletop sweetener and candy production.

- 100 mesh fine powder: Fast cold-water dissolution, perfect for beverage powder premix and tablet pressing.

Q2 What is the difference between Erythritol and Xylitol?

Both are polyol sweeteners, but their metabolic characteristics differ greatly.

Erythritol: 0 kcal/g, GI=0, absorbed in small intestine and excreted unchanged in urine. It has much higher digestive tolerance, with laxation threshold around 50g per serving.

Xylitol: ~2.4 kcal/g, partial fermentation in colon. It has stronger anti-caries effect, commonly used for chewing gum and dental formulas. For keto, diabetic and low-calorie beverage projects, erythritol is the preferred option.

Q3 Why does Erythritol create a cooling sensation on the tongue, and can I reduce this cooling effect in my formula?

The cooling taste comes from its negative solution heat; heat is absorbed when erythritol dissolves in saliva.

To mitigate cooling sensation, blend erythritol with stevia, monk fruit or allulose in formula. Adjust the proportion of erythritol in total sweetener system, which can effectively weaken the cooling mouthfeel.

Q4 What storage and shelf-life properties should formulators note?

Erythritol features low hygroscopicity, not easy to absorb moisture. Store sealed in cool dry area below 25°C, avoid moisture and heavy humidity. The shelf life is 24 months under original sealed packaging. Once opened, seal tightly to prevent moisture ingress.

Q5 Can we get samples for testing?

Yes, free samples ranging from 20g to 100g are available for your testing before formal orders.
